Personal Note

As both a traditional and non-traditional learner myself, I understand first-hand the challenges faced by students who work, attend college, raise a family, and handle other responsibilities. In particular, I took advantage of online and distance learning options in order to continue working while completing my doctorate. I use this personal experience to remind myself that classes at Southwest Tech must be available in a variety of learning formats to meet the needs of all our students. As Dean of the Business division, my goal is to increase the number of courses available online and at outreach locations throughout the Southwest Tech district.

While I joined Southwest Tech in July 2007, I have sixteen years of experience in higher education administration at Upper Iowa University where I filled a variety of increasingly responsible roles. These roles involved management and supervision of regional centers in Wisconsin and Iowa, program development, program oversight and marketing, faculty and staff development, supervision, and accreditation compliance.

I live in rural Wauzeka with my husband, Jim. My two daughters graduated from the Wauzeka/Steuben School District. At Southwest Tech, I serve on the Leadership Team, Dean’s Council, and Strategic Planning Team. I’m a member of the Chancellor’s Committee for Entrepreneurial Studies at UW-Platteville.
