Social Events

Student Activities

Southwest Tech hosts a number of events on campus throughout the year. These events have included picnics, dances, improvisational comedy troupes, musical groups, hypnotists, and other entertainers. All students are welcome to attend and most events are free of charge.

Student Senate

The Student Senate is the only body that represents Southwest Tech's entire student population. Students enrolled in academic programs select classmates to represent their interests in the Senate. These representatives elect Senate officers as well as appoint student representatives to established faculty-student committees. The Student Senate serves as an advisory body, working with students, faculty, and administration on social, educational, and cultural activities at Southwest Tech. The Senate president periodically updates the Southwest Tech District Board on Student Senate activities during regular monthly board meetings.

Student Ambassadors

The Student Ambassadors at Southwest Tech are a diverse and energetic group of students that are selected to welcome and host potential students and their friends and families. The Student Ambassadors serve as a public relations, marketing, and recruitment team, working in direct partnership with college personnel. They are the “student face” of Southwest Tech. Ambassadors strive to encourage students, staff, and community involvement in the mission of the college. The Southwest Tech Student Ambassadors represent the college in a responsible, ethical and professional manner, and portray a positive image of the college.
