Skill Development

General Education courses provide work-oriented learning in communication, mathematics, natural science, and social science. They are designed to help learners succeed in college, on the job, and in daily living. All associate degree and most technical diploma programs require courses in General Education. In addition to supporting NWTC programs, many General Education courses can be transferred to other Wisconsin Technical Colleges and to four-year colleges and universities. These courses are offered throughout the District.

Before taking General Education classes, you should meet high school exit competencies in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science.

The General Education classes are not eligible for financial aid unless taken with an associate degree or technical diploma program.
