Gin Reynolds | 1999 Practical Nursing graduate

We have a number of Southwest Tech alumni who have returned to campus as employees of the college. We wanted to shine the spotlight on them and share their Southwest Tech story. Gin Reynolds completed the Nursing Assistant (CNA) course in 1997 and the Practical Nursing (LPN) in 1999. She now serves as the Human Patient Simulator Technician in the Health Sciences division at Southwest Tech.

What impact did the college have on your career?  The college has played a role in every part of my career! From my start as a CNA to LPN then EMT- B, CPR instructor and EMS instructor, Southwest Tech has been integral in the education I’ve received to further my career.

Tell me about your career path after graduation. How did you get to where you are now?  My first job as a nurse was in the long term care setting. I was already a CNA so I was hired to transition to the LPN role before I graduated. After working for about 10 years in long term care, I switched roles and started working at Southwest Tech as the Human Patient Simulator Technician (I had to Google what that was) and the rest is history. I feel very fortunate to be part of the SWTC family.

What is something you think every student should participate in? Student Nurses Association was great experience for me.

What are you proudest of? My daughter Payton! She is 10 years old, fun, outgoing and always up the next adventure!

What are your passions outside of work? We enjoy traveling. We like to spend time on the river down near Bagley, jet skiing. I really enjoy spending time with friends and family.
