Southwest Tech officials planning less restrictions for fall semester
Fennimore -
Southwest Wisconsin Technical College officials are planning the fall semester with more on-campus, hands-on classes, and fewer COVID-19-related requirements. A continued return to more normal campus operations and services are planned, as well. All of the specifics, including mask and social distance requirements, are still under consideration and will be finalized in the coming months.
“Given the emergence of COVID-19 vaccines, the declining infection rates and our careful management throughout this pandemic, I am confident in saying we are poised to return to some form of normal operations this fall semester,” said Dr. Jason Wood, Southwest Tech president. “It has been a challenging time for our students, faculty and staff. I am extremely proud of how our college community has responded. We are on the right track to bring everyone back to campus and that wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s commitment to each other.”
Southwest Tech officials will continue to monitor state and federal health and safety guidelines. “We will continue to utilize all the tools at our disposal when it comes to making these important decisions,” said Cynde Larsen, executive dean of health occupations at Southwest Tech. “The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff is a top priority.”
