Greetings!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend in-service.  As the fall semester begins, we focus our thoughts and efforts even more keenly on our students and their success.  Please know you make a difference and it is appreciated.

  1. COVID Update:  One way we can all help is to stay home if you feel sick.  This means at the first sign of illness not after a few days in a row of not feeling well.  If you have symptoms, get tested and report to the COVID response group.  If you or someone in your immediate household has a positive test, you are required to report it to the COVID response group and remain off-campus until Human Resources indicates you may return. We will follow up with contract tracing to prevent the spread to others.
  1. COVID-19 Testing: The Grant County Health Department will begin to offer free Covid-19 drive-through testing at the former Shopko building beginning Monday, August 16. They will test every Monday, Wednesday, Friday only, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. No appointment is needed. They do testing for ages 12 months and older.  Results take approximately 48 hours.
  1. Project RISE: The next milestone in Project RISE is launching the new student application. The old application will come down Friday, August 20 and the new application will go live Sept. 1. In the meantime there will be a webpage to inform our prospective students.  As a reminder, the application fee is waived this year.  Thank you to everyone who has played a role in getting us to this point.
  1. Student Recruitment: Katie Glass sent out appointments for 7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 pm on Sept. 1. We invite you to attend one of these sessions to learn more about how we are recruiting students to the college and what you can do to help.
  1. Financial Support for Students: Cora Beth Schmitz, Student Financial Assistance Manager, will be sending a communication to all students informing them of the Emergency Financial Aid Grant that is available to support students. Emergency Financial Aid Grant applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis each semester.  Awards are between $250 and $2,000.
