Southwest Tech Spotlight: Stephanie Robey

“Attending Southwest Tech not only changed my life, but is forever changing the lives of the people I manage in the restaurant industry.”

Stephanie Robey’s career did not begin the way she imagined it would. At the time, her mother could tell her heart was not in her work and encouraged her to go to school for something she enjoyed. Stephanie saw that Southwest Teach had a culinary program, and it immediately caught her eye.

“I enjoyed cooking, but I truly found my passion for culinary management through the guidance of Culinary Instructor Jeff Dombeck.”

After graduation, Stephanie was employed by CHAMPPS, in Dubuque, IA. She was promoted quickly to front of the House Manager and has been with the company for just over three years.

“At CHAMPPS we focus on energetic teamwork, top of the line customer service, and made from scratch food,” Stephanie declared. “I love coming to work and getting to practice the same skills I learned during my culinary training at Southwest Tech”
