Women’s History Month
Each year, March is recognized as Women’s History Month. This year’s theme is “Women Providing Healing, Promoting Health,” which recognizes the many ways in which women have provided healing and hope to humanity for countless generations.
Throughout the month we will feature our students, both in traditional and non-traditional programs, as well as those involved in athletics on campus.

What brought you to Southwest Tech?
One of my friends from work encouraged me to go back to school and Southwest Tech seemed like a good choice for me to attend and it’s a lot closer to home where my kids are at.
When do you graduate? What are your plans after graduation?
I graduate on May 21, 2022. My plan after graduation is to start applying for a job in my field of MA at any hospital or clinic.
What empowers you to complete your education in your field?
What empowers me to complete my education, that would be my kids. My kids are the ones who empower me to strive to do better and be a role model for both of my kids. That’s what motivates me. I’ve always been interested in the medical field since I was young because I like helping others.
How does Southwest Tech empower you to complete your goals?
I have two wonderful instructors who empower me to reach my goals and who are willing to help me whenever I needed help, or if I have questions on things that I don’t quite understand. My advisor at Southwest Tech is always available whenever I needed to see her. Southwest Tech has many opportunities and programs that help me reach my goal, such as how to write resume and cover letters, different ways on how to improve your studying, the library where to look up on things, the Knox center, the school store, etc. Southwest Tech has many programs that empower me to complete my goal.
