Why did you choose your program?
I decided to become a Medical Laboratory Technician because I enjoy solving problems and being a part of the team that saves lives. It’s so wild what the human body is capable of.
What have you enjoyed about your Southwest Tech experience?
Southwest Tech has been fun to attend with all the activities they have on campus and the instructors are amazing at helping you succeed at your goals and dreams.

What will be your job title and responsibilities?
I accepted a position as an MLT. I will be running samples on the analyzers, performing routine maintenance on the analyzers, running urinalysis samples, microbiology set up and finalizing, setting up peripheral smears in hematology, performing type and screen in blood bank, running COVID testing, calling critical values to doctors, and helping doctors to diagnose patients by looking at their blood and body fluids as a Laboratory Scientist.
