Why did you choose your program?
I chose the Electrical Power Distribution program because I wanted to find a career where I could be physically active outdoors and wouldn’t have to spend years studying in a classroom.
What have you enjoyed about your Southwest Tech experience?
I have enjoyed all the time spent doing practical work in the pole field, and the supportive staff who have set me up for success throughout the year.

What will be your job title and responsibilities?
I will be starting as an Apprentice Line Technician, and will be working towards becoming a Journeyman Line Technician within the next three years. As an apprentice I will be maintaining and constructing the underground and overhead electrical power distribution systems in the Cedar Falls/Waterloo, Iowa area.
