Southwest Tech Hosts Auto Body Training

Fennimore -

Every two years, auto collision workers are required to undergo recertification training for the products they use in their shops.  PPG Industries, a leader in the automotive refinish coatings and specialty products industry, teamed up with Southwest Tech to offer classes for area auto collision shops at the Southwest Tech campus in Fennimore.

On August 8th and 9th, 60 participants total participants took part in either Deltron Solvent Class or Envirobase High Performance (EHP) Water Class.  The EHP process uses a more environmentally-friendly, water-based paint product.  In addition to certifications in these two products, the PPG Industries training provided information on personal safety, paint chemical fundamentals, repair procedures, and info on the latest products and techniques for refinishing the newest specialty colors used on cars and light trucks.
