Vosberg brews up new coffee business in Kieler

Fennimore -

Sitting in the shadow of a Southwest Wisconsin Technical College billboard along U.S. Highway 151 in Kieler, Wisconsin, is FarmGirl Coffee Shoppe LLC. The newly-opened portable business is operated by Tabitha Vosberg, a recent Southwest Tech graduate. She earned an associate’s degree in Farm Business and Production Management in May.

FarmGirl Coffee Shoppe LLC has been in the works for more than a year, and officially opened for business about three months ago. “I really like a latte from time to time and I had to go to Platteville (Wisconsin) or Dubuque (Iowa) to get one, and we are in the middle here,” said Vosberg. “Kieler is really growing and expanding, so my family really thought that Kieler could use a coffee trailer.”

Vosberg always wanted to own her own business. Her and her family discussed the idea and decided now was the time. The first step was finding a location. After that, they purchased a flatbed trailer and built the coffee shop on that. They built the coffee business on wheels, so Vosberg can take the rig to events in the area.

The coffee shop offers a variety of espressos, coffees, lattes, chais, lotus energy drinks and more. Vosberg currently operates the coffee shop Monday-Saturday from 6 -11 am. Her goal is to establish a good customer base. “I love meeting new people and getting to know my customers,” she said. “That’s always really fun.”

As for her time at Southwest Tech, Vosberg has fond memories. “It was a really fun experience,” she said. “You get to know really great people. Your teachers are always there to help you and support you and be your mentor, which I really appreciate and love.”
