Southwest Tech Student Delivers Free Resources To Those In Need
Paige Johnston, a student in the Nonprofit Leadership program at Southwest Tech, has been busy this summer. She bought a camper, but instead of camping she started The Boundless Trailer, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Through the trailer, Paige helps combat poverty and assists when natural disasters strike. She offers support and distributes everyday items, such as clothing and toiletries to those in need.

The Southwest Wisconsin Technical College Fall Commencement will be held Friday, Dec. 13. There will be two ceremonies this year, divided by programs. The first ceremony will be held at 1 p.m., followed by the second ceremony at 3 p.m. They will take place in the campus auditorium. This commencement will see 81 students graduate, with 62 walking across the stage.
The student speaker for the 1 p.m. ceremony will be Kennedy Kosharek, while Taccara Aaushi Dowdell will serve as the student speaker for the 3 p.m. ceremony. Kajal Patel will be the emcee for the 1 p.m. ceremony, while Anna Hardyman will be the emcee for the 3 p.m. ceremony. Lisa Wallin-Kapinus will serve as the alumni speaker.

ServSafe Course Offered at Southwest Tech!
This class is for the general public to maintain their restaurant license. Students review the conditions which cause food contamination and spoilage, safe food handling techniques, and how to prevent accidents. Students use state and federal regulations and apply Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.
The class will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 from 8 am to 4:30 pm at Southwest Tech, RM 205.
