Southwest Tech in the News: Students need exposure to opportunities by Tom Still

FENNIMORE – Same story; different community.

Fennimore -
One of Southwest Tech’s six college purposes is to collaborate with schools to provide K-12 students opportunities to explore college and career options as well as to enhance their preparation for postsecondary education. Last week Southwest Tech hosted the Southwest Wisconsin Business and Education Summit to discuss just that.
 
Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council was in attendance, and summarized the discussion best by stating, “Unless current trends change somewhat dramatically, Wisconsin will be home to more adults who are retired than who are working within 15 years. Keeping more young people engaged and exploring careers close to home is part of the answer.”
