Students fare well at dairy judging contest

Fennimore -

A team of second year Farm Operations and Management – Dairy and Agribusiness Science and Technology – Animal Science students received an Honorable Mention ranking in the 90th annual Hoard’s Dairyman Dairy Judging Contest. Overall, the team finished in fifth place. There were 46 teams in the contest that consisted of both 2- and 4-year colleges. Students on the team included Cameron Haas, Hillsboro, Wisconsin; Lance James, Dodgeville, Wisconsin; Levi Kindschi, Loganville, Wisconsin; Max Miller, Dodgeville, Wisconsin; Matt Morrow, Mount Hope, Wisconsin; Maxwell Udelhoven, Lancaster, Wisconsin; Matt Walz, Glen Haven, Wisconsin and Cody Wolter, Black River Falls. This contest was administered through pictures in the magazine. The students had to place five breeds. Ryan Weigel, Animal Science instructor, coaches in the team. In addition, Weigel coaches the Platteville FFA team, which won the High School division, which included 155 teams.
