Program: Business Management
Hometown: I grew up in Westby, Wisconsin, then I lived in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin for about 13 years. With a recent short, eighth months in Dubuque, Iowa, I now call Sparta, Wisconsin my hometown.
Why did you choose your program? I selected the Business Management program because I wanted to move into management in the company I work at. After speaking with several managers within the company I chose this program as the most valuable with the various skills acquired. I have much field experience, so I needed to learn more about the business aspect.
What have you enjoyed about it? I have enjoyed the experience of learning how little I actually knew about business. The challenge of going back to school after so many years is also enjoyable, though surprisingly frightening.
What has surprised you about your program? The level of difficulty was very surprising as well as the how supportive and encouraging my instructors are. The amount of specialization for the different fields of study was a bit of a surprise as well.
What types of practical experience(s) have you had during your college career? Before I have even completed this program, the company I work for promoted me into a management position. I am actually putting to work the skills I have learned into real world applications.
When will you graduate? I anticipate graduating May of 2020.
What are your plans after graduation? After graduation I plan to keep utilizing my newly acquired skills in my position as an area manager. I hope to advance to senior management after I have mastered my current position and I may even continue in my education in the future if needed.
