Why did you choose your program?
I chose the program because my aunt is a Dental Assistant and she would always talk about how much she enjoyed the career. I was also always so fascinated by dental work.
What did you enjoy about your Southwest Tech experience?
I really enjoyed how helpful the instructors were and how they always wanted to make sure we were understanding the program in the best way possible. I really enjoyed how Krista would have us watch guest speakers at the college, which was really nice.

What is your job title and what are your responsibilities?
I am a Dental Assistant for Dr. Anne Hagenston. I assist her chair side with our patients, doing fillings, teeth extractions, crown prep and more. I do lab work, such as pouring and trimming stone models, mounting them to make dentures and partial dentures and using acrylic to make custom trays. I call patients to confirm their appointments with us everyday. I schedule people and help people get into our office on an emergency basis. I write all of my notes after we see each patient and have an overall job of keeping things cleaned, organized, and stocked.
