Job responsibilities: Ordering food from Sysco, overseeing other cooks, gathering new recipes, catering for small events, and prepping daily food specials.
How did Southwest Tech prepare you for your current position? By having two instructors who are very knowledgeable in this field helped me a lot when I had questions or needed help. It was nice knowing that I could come to them at any time during class or even after class.
Why did you choose your field of study? I chose this field of study because I always had the passion to cook. When I was little, I loved to watch the Pixar movie Ratatouille. I also had an addiction to the Food Network channel—Especially Bobby Flay and Anne Burell, who are my inspiration. And of course, who doesn’t like food! Food makes people happy, and I like making people happy… It’s perfect!
What advice would you have for other students thinking about advancing their education? Choosing the right college helps! That’s why I’m very happy that I chose Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. It made advancing my education fun and easy!
