Victoria Bonilla

Female standing in police uniform.

Hometown: Fennimore, Wisconsin

Program: Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement 2

Why did you choose your program?

I chose this program because while growing up I was always interested in law enforcement. Originally, I didn’t plan to get my degree in law enforcement. The plan was to go to a four-year college for medical science and run track and field for UW-L. That quickly changed when I found out about the Law Enforcement II Certification, where I was able to complete the Wisconsin 720 hour Law Enforcement Academy.

What have you enjoyed about your Southwest Tech experience?

I’ve really enjoyed the small classes and how much time the teachers dedicate to each of us students. I have made friendships that will last a lifetime and will also get the privilege in working with some during my career. Southwest Tech definitely made college an enjoyable experience and I am glad that I had decided to come here.

Are you involved in any student club or activities on campus?

I am involved in the Blue Line Club and also the Student Senate.

Where will you be employed?

I am currently employed at Grant County as a full-time Jailer and at Crawford County as a part-time Jailer.

What will be your job title and responsibilities?

Jailer. Keeping jail order, supervise and document inmate movement/ incidents, respond to emergencies within the jail, and enforce disciplinary sanctions.
