Southwest Tech Spotlight: Jason Robbins

After graduating from Southwest Tech in 2003 from the Performance Engine Machining program and then the Machine Tool program in 2004, Jason opened Robbins Precision Machine located in New Diggins, Wisconsin. Impressed with Jason as a student, now retired Machine Tool program instructor Cecil Allen would ask Jason to fill in as a substitute for the program when needed. By 2011, Jason was teaching full-time as the CNC Setup/Operation program instructor, helping students succeed at pursuing careers in manufacturing.

“In just three years, it seems like I can’t go anywhere without seeing someone I’ve taught or trained.”

Jason estimates he has taught over 60 students at Southwest Tech or through company on-site contract training and he is looking forward to educating many more in the future.

“The best part of my job is when students tell me the program made a difference in their life.”
