Student Spotlight: Donielle Czerniejewski

Donielle Czerniejewski. Passionate About Pit Bulls. Excited To Help Moms And Dads. Midwife – Direct Entry Student.

In high school, Donielle was involved in the Outdoor Science Club, Volleyball, and Track. As a captain for track, Donielle gained leadership skills that have proved useful for her later in life.

“My favorite childhood memory is the first time I went horseback riding. Back in second grade, everything seemed to be a little taller and bigger. My aunt put my on one of her newer horses and I was both nervous and excited. I had a blast that day.”

Donielle made the decision to move from St. Francis to Southwest Wisconsin and enrolled in the Midwife – Direct Entry program at Southwest Tech.

“I want to be a midwife because I want to work with moms and dads to be. Originally, I thought I wanted to be an ultrasound tech, but I began to think about how after the ultrasounds were over I would not see those people again. I would never know what happened to them or their baby. So I changed my mind. Being a midwife will allow me to help women through one of the most life changing things that happens to them.”

The move has been a slight lifestyle change, but one the Donielle is embracing.

“I enjoy going to my friend’s farm and seeing the calves and the kittens. Experiencing the full farm experience is really exciting. Back home, a few towns over they have farms that were in the middle of the city. I could also experience farms at the Milwaukee County Zoo.”

Donielle’s bubbly personality has made her an asset to companies like Joann Fabric and Dairy Queen. She is also proving to be a great asset on the Student Ambassador team at Southwest Tech.

“It is awesome to be a Student Ambassador. I am looking forward to meeting new people, as well as being that person to help someone decide where they want to go to college.”

Donielle resides in the student housing complex on the Southwest Tech campus.

“Living on campus is fun and interesting. I have gotten to meet so many new people and it exceeded my expectations of what living in a college dorm would be like.”

After graduating from Southwest Tech, Donielle wants to put her kind and positive attitude towards helping mothers in a birthing center, as well as rescuing pit bulls.
