Library Collection

Our library collection supports the courses offered at Southwest Tech and currently has over 95,000 ebooks, 9,500 books, 3,700 audiovisual materials, and 135 periodicals and journal subscriptions. Our online catalog allows you to locate our library materials from anywhere. Ebooks can be accessed anywhere you have an internet connection, printed books may be checked out for three weeks, audiovisuals and periodicals for one week, and reference books for one day. Included in our collection are children books, leisure reading materials and popular films.

Circulation

Renewals may be made in person or by calling the library staff at 608.822.2338. Materials may be returned at the circulation desk or after hours in the book drop located just outside the library. Fines for overdue books and magazines are $.10 per day. Audio, films, reference and reserve materials are $.25 per day. You as the borrower are responsible for returning materials on time to avoid late fees.

Computers and Equipment

  • 38 Computers within the Knox Learning Center
  • 16 Computers in the lab (314A)
  • E-Readers
  • TV with VHS player available for use in the study room
  • Headphones and calculators are available for in library usage
  • Two photocopiers: one color, one black and white

Study Rooms

Two study rooms are available for group or individual study. Usage is limited to two hours. Please do not leave personal items in the room when unattended.

Library Instruction

Online resource tutorials can be found in Schoology using the following guideline: Click Groups, Click Join, Type in Access Code MGK2N-T84QQ and click Join. There are several learning tutorials available to guide students in the use of our online resources. Interlibrary Loan

Books, magazine articles or audiovisual materials that are not available within the library may be borrowed at no charge through interlibrary loan. Contact a library staff member if you would like to learn more about this service.
