Students entering the Automation Systems Technology program should:
- Be interested in technology and enjoy learning how systems and machines work.
- Have a strong attention to detail and be able to follow instructions carefully.

- Have good troubleshooting skills and be patient when things don’t go as planned.

Program Basics
- Associate degree, requiring a minimum of two years to complete.
- High school articulation courses accepted.

Cost of Attendance (COA) is a total of all the usual expenses of being a student. The COA sets the maximum amount of financial aid a student can receive.

Schedule an admission meeting with your program advisor to complete your student success plan, including a career assessment and academic map and support plan.
To schedule your meeting, go to the Appointments page. Find your advisor in the list, then select Make an Appointment under their contact information.
Appointments are available on campus or virtually.

What should a graduate of this program be able to do?
Graduates of the Automation Systems Technology program will be able to design, program, and maintain advanced automated systems that integrate robotics, motion control, PLCs, smart sensors, and industrial networking. They will apply problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills to improve system performance, efficiency, and safety.
