The Fire Service Training Program at Southwest Tech provides initial training and continuing education to local firefighters. The core firefighting courses are based on the National Fire Protection Association Standard 1001 – Firefighter Professional Qualifications. The State of Wisconsin requires minimum training and establishes certification standards. The courses offered help firefighters achieve these goals.
Technical Rescue and Hazardous Materials Response courses are also offered as well as locally delivered National Fire Academy courses.
